You must have heard about supercomputer. As the name suggest supercomputer, it is as highest speed computer. The first supercomputers (1960s) were highly tuned conventional designs that ran faster than their more general-purpose computers. The name of computer is Summit World’s Fastest Supercomputer

United States has unveiled its latest super computer namely Summit. Summit is truly a remarkable piece of engineering. Summit has capability to process 200,000 trillion calculations per second – or 200 petaflops, that’s about 100 million times more than a typical computer.

Before the Summit China had world’s supercomputer Sunway TaihuLight world’s most powerful machine with processing power of 93 petaflops but China no longer owns the fastest supercomputer in the world.

Summit is developed in partnership with IBM and Nvidia and kept at Oak Ridge National Laboratory (ORNL) in Tennessee.
Summit contains 4,608 compute servers and has more than 10 petabytes of memory.
